Remote lag is not always "slow internet". More often it is limited upstream bandwidth, a relayed path, quality set too high, or a loaded host. Follow these steps in order and the experience usually improves clearly.
Find the bottleneck
The session shows current latency, frame rate and whether the link is direct. If it says relayed, peer-to-peer failed and the relay node affects latency.

Lower quality demands
